Campo Grande travel guide

Campo Grande is a modern city located in the south western Mato Grosso Do Sol state of Brazil and is the state capital.
A largely agriculturally based city, this is the heart of Brazilian cattle country, Campo Grande has a very down to earth feel about it. The city has a history as a traveller stop over for traders travelling across Brazil and now plays host to the starting point of many travellers’ journeys to other parts of the country. One of the most popular excursions out of Campo Grande is the Pantanal. Considered to be the largest freshwater wetland ecosystem in the world the Pantanal is one of the hottest (both temperature and popularity wise) destinations in Brazil. Located about 4-5 hours from Campo Grande the Pantanal offers visitors the possibility to experience nature and wildlife in its purest form in one of the most naturally beautiful environments known to man.
Back in the city of Campo Grande visitors will be happy to find a vast array of both restaurants and shops offering traditional Brazilian fare with a number of artisan markets located around the city. Visitors interested in Natural history and the native culture of Brazil must visit the Dom Bosco museum regarded by many to be the finest museum of its kind.
Campo Grande is fortunate to have more than its fair share of parks and open green spaces where you can go to escape the bustle of the city. One of the most significant and also one of the largest urban parks in the world is Pas Nacoes indigenas.
